Full mouth rehabilitation applies when the problem is no longer a tooth but the whole system: severe wear, multiple missing teeth, a collapsed bite height, or years of piecemeal treatment that no longer function together.
The defining feature is sequence. The final bite position is decided first, tested in temporaries, and only then rebuilt in definitive materials. Treating these cases tooth by tooth is how bites end up worse than they started.
When full mouth rehabilitation is the right treatment

The proposed final result is built on models first, so the plan is testable before any tooth is touched.

Temporaries reproduce the planned bite and are worn while function, aesthetics and comfort are assessed and adjusted.

Implants, crowns, bridges and any orthodontic component are completed to the tested plan.

How long does full mouth rehabilitation take?
Typically several months to a year, driven by whether implants and healing time are involved and by how long the provisional phase needs to run.
Can it be done in one go?
Parts of it can be staged efficiently, but skipping the provisional phase to save time is the most common way these cases fail. The bite has to be tested before it is made permanent.
Will it fix my jaw pain?
Sometimes, when the pain is driven by an unstable bite. TMJ disorders are multifactorial, and any honest plan says which part of the symptom is expected to improve and which is not.
