Dental Crown Cost in Lucknow

₹3,000 – ₹25,000 per crown in Lucknow, driven almost entirely by the material.

A crown, called a cap by most patients, is a cover cemented over a tooth that has lost too much structure to be filled. The price gap between the cheapest and dearest option is roughly eightfold, and it maps almost perfectly onto the material rather than onto the dentist's work.

The practical decision is usually simple. Back teeth take load and are barely visible, so strength matters more than appearance. Front teeth are the reverse. Paying for a premium aesthetic material on a second molar is money spent where nobody will see it.

Dental Crown Cost breakdown

ItemTypical rangeNote
Full metal crown₹3,000 – ₹6,000Strongest and cheapest. Visibly metallic, so back teeth only.
Metal-ceramic (PFM) crown₹4,000 – ₹9,000The long-standing default. Shows a dark line at the gum as it recedes.
Zirconia crown₹8,000 – ₹18,000Strong and metal-free. The usual recommendation for back teeth today.
E-max / lithium disilicate crown₹10,000 – ₹20,000Best light behaviour of any material. Front teeth, where it is visible.
Crown on an implant₹8,000 – ₹20,000Includes the abutment in some quotes and not in others. Ask.
Three-unit bridge₹12,000 – ₹50,000Priced as three crowns. Requires cutting the two teeth either side of the gap.
Temporary crown₹500 – ₹2,000Worn for the week or two while the permanent unit is made.

What moves the price

The material

This is nearly the whole price. Metal is cheapest and strongest but looks like metal. Metal-ceramic is the historic compromise and its known failure mode is a grey line appearing at the gum margin over years. Zirconia is strong, white throughout and has no metal substructure. Lithium disilicate handles light most like a real tooth, which is why it is used on front teeth.

Which tooth it goes on

A molar takes several times the bite force of an incisor and is essentially invisible when you speak. A central incisor is the opposite. The right material is different in each position and so is the sensible spend.

Whether the tooth needs building up first

A heavily broken-down tooth may need a post and core before a crown can be seated, adding roughly ₹1,500 to ₹5,000. A root-treated tooth almost always needs one.

Digital versus conventional workflow

An intraoral scanner and milled restoration cost more than a putty impression sent to a lab, and generally fit better with fewer adjustment appointments.

The laboratory

Two zirconia crowns from different labs are not the same product. Shade matching, margin accuracy and the milling blank all vary, and the lab bill is a real fraction of the quote.

Before you compare quotes

Three ways a cheap quote gets cheap

The root canal is quoted separately

Most crowns follow a root canal. If you were quoted for the crown alone, add the RCT to the comparison.

The post and core is not in the number

A root-treated tooth usually needs one before it can hold a crown. It is frequently discovered and billed after treatment starts.

Unnamed zirconia

Ask which blank and which lab. Zirconia spans a wide quality band and the word alone tells you nothing about what you are getting.

Dental Crown Cost in Lucknow: common questions

How much does a dental crown cost in Lucknow?

A dental crown in Lucknow costs between ₹3,000 and ₹25,000 in 2026, depending on material. Full metal runs ₹3,000 to ₹6,000, metal-ceramic ₹4,000 to ₹9,000, zirconia ₹8,000 to ₹18,000, and E-max ₹10,000 to ₹20,000. A post and core, if the tooth needs one, adds ₹1,500 to ₹5,000.

Which crown material is best?

It depends on the tooth. For back teeth, zirconia is the usual choice: strong, metal-free and durable under bite load. For front teeth, lithium disilicate handles light most like natural enamel. Metal-ceramic still works but develops a visible dark line at the gum over the years.

How long does a dental crown last?

A well-fitted crown on a healthy foundation typically lasts ten to fifteen years, and often longer. What ends a crown's life is usually decay at the margin or fracture of the underlying tooth rather than failure of the crown itself, which is why the fit at the gum line matters more than the material.

What is the difference between a cap and a crown?

Nothing. Cap is the everyday word and crown is the clinical one. They refer to the same restoration.

Is a crown better than a filling?

Not universally. A filling is more conservative and correct when enough sound tooth remains. A crown becomes the better option once so much structure is lost that a filling would leave the remaining walls liable to fracture, and always after a root canal on a back tooth.
