Veneers are thin facings bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, shade or alignment. They are quoted per tooth, and the number that matters is therefore per tooth multiplied by how many teeth show when you smile, which for most people is six to ten in the upper arch.
The single most consequential choice is composite versus porcelain. Composite is built up directly in the chair in one appointment, costs a fraction as much, and is reversible. Porcelain is laboratory-made, needs enamel removed, lasts far longer and cannot be undone. Reversibility is worth more than most patients are told at the point of sale.
Veneers & Smile Design Cost breakdown

|---|---|---|
| Composite veneer, per tooth | ₹4,000 – ₹8,000 | Direct, single visit, reversible. Lasts roughly 4 to 7 years. |
| Porcelain veneer, per tooth | ₹12,000 – ₹25,000 | Lab-made, two visits, irreversible. Lasts 10 to 15 years or more. |
| Full upper smile, composite, 8 teeth | ₹35,000 – ₹65,000 | The affordable route to a full smile change. |
| Full upper smile, porcelain, 8 teeth | ₹1,00,000 – ₹2,00,000 | The figure most people mean by a smile makeover. |

What moves the price
Composite or porcelain
A three to fourfold difference per tooth. Composite is added to the tooth and can be polished off; porcelain requires a layer of enamel to be removed and commits the tooth to being restored for life. On a young patient with sound enamel, that permanence is the real cost, not the fee.
How many teeth
The honest count is however many are visible in your widest smile. Treating six when ten show produces a visible boundary, so the quote scales with the smile, not with the complaint.
Whether alignment is treated first
Veneers used to mask crooked teeth need more tooth removed to sit flat. Straightening first with aligners or braces, then veneering, is more conservative and often produces a better result, though it adds time and cost upfront.
The ceramist
Front-teeth ceramics are hand-layered work and the technician's skill is visible in the result. This is the part of a porcelain quote that genuinely varies between clinics.
The mock-up stage
A trial smile bonded temporarily onto the teeth lets you see and approve the shape before any enamel is touched. It adds cost and it is the cheapest insurance in cosmetic dentistry.
Before you compare quotes
Three ways a cheap quote gets cheap
Priced per tooth, presented as a smile
A ₹12,000 headline is one tooth. Multiply by eight before comparing quotes.
No mock-up offered
If you cannot see the proposed result before enamel is removed, you are approving an outcome you have not seen. Ask for a trial smile.
Healthy enamel cut for a cosmetic complaint
Where whitening or bonding would solve the problem, full porcelain veneers are an irreversible answer to a reversible question. Ask what the conservative option is and why it was ruled out.
Veneers & Smile Design Cost in Lucknow: common questions
How much do veneers cost in Lucknow?
Veneers in Lucknow cost ₹4,000 to ₹8,000 per tooth for composite and ₹12,000 to ₹25,000 per tooth for porcelain in 2026. A full upper smile of eight teeth therefore runs roughly ₹35,000 to ₹65,000 in composite and ₹1,00,000 to ₹2,00,000 in porcelain.
How much does a smile makeover cost in Lucknow?
A full smile makeover in Lucknow generally costs ₹80,000 to ₹3,00,000, depending on how many teeth are treated and whether composite or porcelain is used. Treating both arches, sixteen to twenty teeth, reaches ₹2,00,000 to ₹5,00,000. Whitening alone, at ₹8,000 to ₹20,000, is sometimes all that is actually needed.
Do veneers ruin your teeth?
Porcelain veneers require a thin layer of enamel to be removed, and enamel does not grow back, so the tooth will need a restoration on its front surface permanently after that. Composite veneers are additive and reversible. Neither damages a tooth when correctly indicated and well made, but the porcelain decision is a permanent one and should be treated as such.
How long do veneers last?
Composite veneers last roughly four to seven years before they need repolishing or replacement, as they stain and chip over time. Porcelain veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years and often longer. Both fail earlier in patients who grind their teeth, which is why a night guard is often part of the plan.
Should I whiten my teeth before getting veneers?
Yes, if you are having veneers on only some teeth. Veneers do not respond to whitening agents, so the shade of your natural teeth has to be settled first and the veneers matched to it. Whitening after veneers leaves a mismatch that can only be fixed by replacing them.
